The Last King of California is a crime novel by Jordan Harper about 19-year-old Luke Crosswhite, who returns to his criminal family's gang, the Devore Combine, after dropping out of college. His father, Big Bobby, is in prison but still controls the gang, which is now led by Luke's uncle, Del. As the family faces a violent takeover attempt from a rival gang and Luke tries to prove himself, he becomes entangled in the gang's world alongside his childhood friend, Callie, who is trying to escape with her boyfriend, Pretty Baby.
